The Del-York Group has announced a partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival to host the 2025 African Film Spotlight Event, an initiative designed to project African storytelling onto the global stage.
This collaboration, announced on Del-York Group official Instagram page, aims to celebrate the continent’s creative excellence and elevate African stories to a worldwide audience.
“We’re thrilled to officially announce our partnership with the Tribeca Festival to launch the African Film Spotlight, a powerful new platform to celebrate African storytelling on the global stage,” it said in the Instagram post.
It added that this “initiative is a bold move toward building sustainable storytelling ecosystems across continents. African cinema is rising and this is just the beginning”.
The initiative, themed Cross-Continental Collaboration & The Power of Partnership, will feature curated stories from African filmmakers, showcase emerging talents, and spark international collaboration within the film industry.
According to a public statement by the company’s founder, Linus Idahosa, the African Film Spotlight will bring African stories, filmmakers, and emerging talents to the forefront of global conversations.
The company added that the 2025 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival will include feature film screenings by African filmmakers, industry panels exploring collaboration and innovation in African cinema, and networking sessions linking African creatives with international partners.
