Netflix is set to premiere Baby Farm, a new limited series by Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Films. The series will be released on March 21.
According to a Deadline exclusive, Baby Farm, directed by Walter Taylaur and Kayode Kasum, uncovers the dark truth of a Lagos-based NGO, run by Dr. Oliver Evans and his wife, Sister Barb, exposing their operation as they exploit vulnerable women for profit.
At the centre of the story is Adanna, a rural girl lured into the facility, and Cherise, an actress struggling with infertility who becomes entangled in the foundation’s illegal activities. As investigative journalist Joy and outsider Ifeyinwa work to expose the truth, it tells a story of survival, trust, and justice.
Abudu, who executive produces the project, said: “Bringing Baby Farm to life has been an intense and deeply important journey. This series is more than just a thriller – it’s a powerful story rooted in real-life issues told through the lense of bold, cinematic African storytelling. With breathtaking visuals, a gripping narrative and an outstanding cast and crew, Baby Farm will keep audiences on the edge of their seats while sparking vital conversations. We can’t wait for the world to experience it.”
Announcing the trailer on her Instagram page, Abudu also said: “Brace yourself for a thrilling rollercoaster of suspense and drama. The official TRAILER for Baby Farm – an EbonyLife Studios Original – is here!”
The series features Onyinye Odokoro, Rita Dominic, Joseph Benjamin, Langley Kirkwood, Jenny Stead, and Genoveva Umeh.
In other news, Mo Abudu is also teaming up with actor Idris Elba on a new film project, Dust to Dreams. Abudu will serve as executive producer, while Elba will take the helm as director. British Grammy-winning singer Seal, Elba, and Audu Maikori also serve as executive producers. A release date for Dust to Dreams is yet to be announced.
