The Cannes-premiering filmmaker’s Whispers of a Burning Scent has attracted a production grant from the Displacement Film Fund.

“The Village Next to Paradise” by Mo Harawe won big at Austria’s Diagonale Awards, taking home several awards including Best Feature Film.

Somalia film The Village Next To Paradise, by Mo Harawe, has received another international honour.

“Anab delivers a powerful and unforgettable performance,” said Sarajevo Film Festival jury member Sebastian Cavazza in presenting the award.

Mo Harawe’s The Village Next to Paradise is one of 29 films eligible for nominations ahead of the European Film Awards.
