The Sunny Side of the Doc, a French documentary marketplace, has announced the appointment of a new advisory board, including Kenya’s media and creative content professional Wangeci Mūrage.
Mūrage joins a group of eight professionals from six different countries, representing a range of expertise in broadcasting, production, distribution, and new media platforms.
“By uniting international experts with complementary backgrounds and connections, we position Sunny Side of the Doc as both a trusted compass and a support platform for the global documentary community. I’m delighted by the enthusiasm of all eight members to work together toward these shared goals,” Aurélie Réman, Managing Director of Sunny Side of the Doc said.
Réman added: “This diversity of perspectives will enhance our ability to anticipate industry trends, navigate challenges proactively, enrich our programming starting from this June edition, and create valuable business opportunities that directly address the evolving needs of documentary professionals across the globe.”
Mūrage is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Media Pros Africa, a Kenya-based company providing digital media solutions in content distribution, multi-platform content production, channel development, marketing and training. The company also facilitates the application and submission process for content providers who seek to exhibit their professional work at cinemas, film festivals and media markets.
Over the course of her career, Mūrage has served as Programming Manager at M-Net Africa, and joined the juries for the Emmy Awards, Africa Movie Academy Awards, Zanzibar International Film Festival, Africa International Film Festival, and Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
