British Grammy-winning singer Seal is the star of Dust to Dreams, a forthcoming project written and directed by Idris Elba and produced by EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu.
In the story told by the film, a father returns to his family years after disappearing, leading to not household friction. In a statement about the film, Elba said, “the film was made because family matters and love doesn’t die”. The film’s recently released trailer shows the film’s other actors, including Nse Ukpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.
In the executive producer’s chair are Abudu, Elba, Seal, and Audu Maikori. Afrexim Bank is a sponsor of the project.
Famous for his singing, Seal released the song “Kiss From A Rose” from his 1994 sophomore album. The song initially disappeared from the charts but got a new life after it was featured in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever. In 1996, the song won three Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Dust to Dreams is not Seal’s first appearance in movies. In the Netflix 2022 production Me Time starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, he played himself.
A release date is yet to be announced for Dust to Dreams.
